Late last week it was emerged that here in the UK, Orange has managed to snatch an exclusive deal with Sony Ericsson’s first Android OS powered device, the XPERIA X10 (white).

The mobile operator today confirmed the white version of the eagerly anticipated device will be available from early April and will be free to customers on select pay monthly contracts. While both Orange and Vodafone UK will be selling the black version of the XPERIA X10, the white version will be exclusive to just Orange customers.

It is powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, the X10 boasts a 4″ WVGA capacitive touchscreen display, an 8.1 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, GPS with GSM/GPRS/EDGE in addition to either UMTS/HSPA. The X10 unlike Motorola’s latest Android phone, the Droid, doesn’t come with Android 2.0 but instead 1.6, though this can be upgraded.

Sony Ericsson is the latest phonemaker to officially enter the Android arena. The manufacturer has unveiled the XPERIA X10 Android smartphone. Though it won’t come with Android 2.0, and just the version 1.6 Donut. It is powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, the X10 boasts a 4″ WVGA capacitive touchscreen display, an 8.1 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, GPS with GSM/GPRS/EDGE in addition to either UMTS/HSPA. This will be dependent on where in the world you are and what networks will be releasing it.

Rumormill currently has it that Sony Ericsson may be launching a new XPERIA X3 and that it will be running the popular mobile OS Google Android. There is also mention that it may arrive as soon as the coming January. If this is so then users may have the choice of choosing between the X2 and the X3 at the same time as the XPERIA X3 has been tipped to arrive immediately following the X2.

Despite skepticism, it has been said that the rumored XPERIA X3 will sport a 8.1 megapixel camera, a four inch touch screen display, bluetooth and Wifi.

The next Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 smartphone, the X2 looks to have been leaked and pictured ahead of schedule. While pictures which were revealed earlier in the week didn’t seem as convincing and lacked in quality, the new ones revealed below provide higher definition. They also show that the Xperia X2 looks to be running Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional, 3G and HSDPA are fairly standard functions.

Though I must say I am glad to see the X2 with a more attractive design, more in sync with our modern era, you will most definitely have notice its gotten rid of those pyramid-like triangular shaped keys which just didn’t do its design much good. Our mobile expert friends at dialaphone thinks the most likely memory card the X2 will be equipped with is MicroSD, which is all good news!
