So far Apple has avoided doing anything similar to this for the iPhone. This hack done by ubiq, allowed him to use Apple’s wireless keyboard to type in iPhone apps and texts and emails, etc. Making the Apple keyboard a fully functional keyboard for the iPhone and iPod Touch, users however still need to have their devices jailbroken first. Hopefully in the future, other non Apple wireless bluetooth keyboards may also be used which means those who don’t like to buy Apple’s products and accessories won’t need to as they can resort to third party ones!
We only spoke about it a week ago and now LG has officially announced their latest flagship – the LG Arena KM900 at the Mobile World Congress 2009 in Barcelona. As you may recall, Sony’s latest VAIO P series is packaged with the Gobi chipset which is more than capable of running on both HSDPA and EV-DO for connectivity. Unfortunately, Sony (just US?) has chosen to block HSDPA access and has locked the super lightweight, pocketable notebook to connecting only via a Verizon Wireless EV-DO connection. But now, thanks to blogger tnkgrl, Sony’s restrictive plans are now virtually non-existent and those without a VZW contract will not have any problems at all when looking to connect via HSDPA. Tnkgrl has successfully hacked the HSDPA on the VAIO P, allowing it to be utilized by those not afraid to void a warranty on the $900 machine.
Click on tnkgrl’s link below, where there will be links to instructions on this mod and also some more pictures of the process.
What a massive difference the new Kindle 2 makes when it is compared with the old Kindle. Not only does it have smooth sexy round corners but its also so much more thinner. The redesign of its keyboard also makes the new Kindle much more appealing, but I have to say the most attractive feature to me in terms of hardware is its further improved battery life. Yes I know the display is only grey and white, but you can still read four days non stop on it, that’s striking! Check out the hands on gallery after the jump…
It’s too early at this point to tell you about the new Amazon Kindle 2 press conference, but it is to be held later today (10am Eastern time). The Kindle 1.0 has been around for some time it is definitely due for an update. If you don’t know much about Amazon’s Kindle device, one line can basically sum up the purpose of this device. It’s a lightweight, wireless device built for reading books, newspapers electronically on a purposefully built black and white screen.
