ASUS’s new 19.6 mm-thick UM30 laptop, weighs 1.40 kg, boasts a nice sleek design finish with its shiny aluminum body. It is well equipped with Intel Core 2 Duo SU 9400 processor and runs Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. A 13.3 inch TFT color LCD display with LED backlight, 320 GB HDD, 3GB DDR2 SDRAM are among its main specs. It will also support SD, SDHC, Mini SD and MMC.

Just the video of the entire casemod process already deserves a mention on this blog. Will Urbina, a modder has created an “OS Xbox Pro” using the original Xbox dev kit, in addition he has put into his new PC some of the best bits of hardware resembling that of Mac Pros. It is absolutely ballistic! The OS Xbox Pro has a 2.93GHz Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550s, an NVIDIA GeForce 9800GT card, 8GB of RAM, an 16GB solid state drive, and four traditional hard drives.

As you will see in the video, it boots to Windows 7, Mac OS X Snow Leopard and Ubuntu. Unfortunately for Xbox fans, no, it doesn’t play Xbox games anymore, its just the case that he wanted! All this was within a budget price of $1500, that’s incredible.

Asus goes multi-touch with T91MT Eee PC

Although there are alternative ways of doing this such as popping up VMware Fusion, Apple hasn’t officially supported Bootcamp in running Windows 7 thus far. With the release of Windows 7 yesterday, Apple has announced official Boot Camp support is on the way, it won’t be too long before we see this update released, likely before 2010. Unfortunately, the update may be Snow Leopard only and likely not work on some older Intel Macs.
