This is great news, especially for those who had been highly suspicious as to whether or not the Wii Fit was just for a laugh when it was first released. The man featured below took the experiment on himself and decided to play the Wii Fit for a continuous 45-day period to see whether he would loose any weight. In the end, as you can probably see, he’s lost quite a substantial amount -7 kgs to be precise and by the looks of it, also gained a vague six pack!? So for those kids whose parents didn’t buy them a Wii Fit just because they thought it would help you shed your weight, go and tell them there’s now living prove!

But at the end of the day, I suppose if you do enough exercise consistently, you’re bound to loose weight, I think the role of the Wii Fit here is that it just gives you enough motivation to actually do the exercise!

Wii Fit will be on sale today, but many say that Mario Kart (which is already out) would be more preferable, simply because of the fun factor involved! So which is it, would you rather enjoy some excitement driving a mario kart or would you instead like to sweat yourself like hell with Wii Fit? Don’t know how well Wii Fit will sell, but mind you I can’t find a copy of Mario Kart anywhere here in Newcastle!

Check out this quick video, might help you make up your mind…

Maybe not the latest, as it hasn’t come out yet but the Darwin, developed by Motus Games will certainly take on a massive role when this latest game console gadget gets released. What is it? The Darwin is bascially a Willmote for use with the Xbox 360, the PS3 and PC, but even better! As we all know, the Wiimote is probably why people buy the Wii, it’s the feature that makes people want to get hold of it, it’s also the reason why most shops here in the UK ran out of stock for it during the Christmas holidays last year. To have wireless controllers that detect our movements for game play in real-time is just gamers’ dream come true.

It’s recently been revealed that Wii Software which is the European version of Wii Ware will set to launch this March. The company responsible for this project, Engine Software says, “Nintendo’s WiiWare service is a new downloadable game content service that is scheduled to be launched in March 2008″.

They also said, “When we acquired our official Wii license last year we already had several concepts written up that would be ideal for WiiWare, and Project Bang! is the first to actually go into production. We wanted to get rolling on this exciting new platform early on, and I am quite happy we are now on schedule to do just that.”

If I’m correct, what I believe most concerns me about launching a downloadable game content channel is the fact that more pirated copies will be available. Not that these don’t already exist, but it would make it so much more easier to gain access to newly launched games in the future.

Nintendo Wii has taken the record for becoming the fastest selling video game console in the UK ever, with one million consoles already sold in just 38 weeks. This is certainly a record for the books, as the last record was by Sony who sold the same equivalent amount but took 50 weeks. While last but not least, XBox 360 needed 60 weeks to attract the same number of customers!
