Nintendo has announced Super Mario Galaxy 2 for Wii at the E3 2009. Super Mario Galaxy 2 is the first full sequel to the 3D Mario game on the same system. It offers much more of the same splendid design and addictive gameplay the first game had to offer. Planetoids you run around, 3D puzzles, unique mechanics on various levels, flying pirate ships and bee suits.
“This upcoming adventure for the Wii console marks the first time a second 3D Mario game has arrived in the same console generation. In the game, Mario rides his trusty dinosaur companion, Yoshi, to new stars and the fantastic worlds found there. This 3D platforming adventure provides longtime video game fans with a fresh round of out-of-this-world challenges in the style introduced in the critically acclaimed original. The game is planned for 2010.”
The new popular upcoming “Tony Hawk: Ride” game as well as its expensive motion sensing skateboard controller was first confused to be an Xbox 360 only exclusive deal. But as things stand at this point, officials from Activision have confirmed that the skater game will be multiplatform and will be available to the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii.
Those Wii fans who like abit of workout at home will be happy to know that Riiflex – the dumbbell weight accessory for Wii / Wii Fit is now available for pre-order online. Shipping to begin later in the Summer this year, two colours are available, each resembling different amounts of weight. Green weighs two pounds while blue weighs four pounds (per set). While these may not be the best range of weights for those who are advanced gym goers, for parents who feel that their kids aren’t getting enough exercise simply because they sit and watch the TV too much, Riiflex might be a good way to kick start a fun exercise routine!
We received a question from a reader, Steve, yesterday and thought it was interesting to reply to him here. The question was regarding whether we know of any use of the new Wii gadget – jOG other than just for in gameplay (we believe he meant things such as hacks and mods). Steve, though we don’t have the jOG hardware ourselves (and we don’t play our Wii much neither!). We do think Tokyo Jogging may be your answer?

As the video below demonstrates, the DSi gets to a readable version of the webpage much before the Nintendo DS Lite does, the whole thing finishes loading well in advance of its older sibling. The Nintendo DSi is set to launch in the US on April 5th. While for us in the UK, GAME has revealed that it will be offering the new Nintendo DSi for GBP 74.99 if you trade in an old console or handheld (Xbox 360, PSP 3000, Wii or DS Lite).

The latest Nintendo Wii Classic Controller “Pro” is basically Wii’s Classic Controller but with better hand grip, more wider spaced analog sticks and extra shoulder buttons. In fact, it is much like Sony Playstation’s Dualshock controller.
The guys at newconceptgaming have come up with a new gadget add on for the Wiimote and the Nunchuck. Once connected (watch the video below), no matter what game it is that you’re playing, you’ll need to be moving your legs as if you were running or jogging. If you stop, then your character within the game (for example, if you were playing Shrek) stops moving… thus you die – that’s no fun! It may not sound very fun, but for those who really need the exercise will bound to shred loads of weight just doing this.
jOG also has a pedometer attached so it counts how many steps you’ve done, I’m pretty sure you’d be amazed how many steps will have been taken in order to play a few minutes of Wii. Watch the video after the jump…
