The Incredible Hulk

On February 24, 2010, in Gaming, by Fahad Majidi

This is not a Hulk game. This is a movie game that happens to have the Hulk in it, and as such, comes off as more “hired hit” than “labor of love”. It definitely has a few amusing moments, but thanks to some underlying problems, the experience is ultimately juts mediocre. Naturally, you assume the role of the Marvel’s not-so-Jolly Green Giant as he avoids capture attempts by the U.S Army and tries to thwart the vague but clearly evil machinations of a scientists-led group called the Enclave. The plot and the characters are both paper-thin, but the story is at least coherent enough to follow.

PS3’s goriest game: Dead Space

On February 8, 2010, in Gaming, by Fahad Majidi

A rumor recently pinged around the internet that EA’s forth coming Sci-fi shocker Dead Space had been banned in China, Japan and Germany. The weird thing? The rumor seemed to have emerged from within EA itself, with widespread suspicious that it might simply be a marketing ploy. (An EA rep told us they were not aware of any action against the game). Whatever the exact truth of it, we do know that if Dead Space does end up banned by some of the world’s queasier censorship authorities, it won’t be a massive surprise.

There is a lot riding on this sequel games may have awarded it 7/10, but Juiced certainly wasn’t the greatest racing title to emerge from the previous generation. Nevertheless, the game sold by the bucket load, which was more than enough to help UK developer Juice Games to get the go-ahead form the THQ to make a follow-up. Unfortunately, that is unlikely to be your initial response.

Madden NFL 10

On February 2, 2010, in Gaming, by Fahad Majidi

Will anybody in the UK bother playing Madden 10 online? After all, American football is perhaps more maligned that any other major sports over here, launched at by rugby fans and unjustly cast aside as complicated and boring. Spend a little time with EA’s increasingly accessible Madden Series, however, and your tune may change. It’s the sporting equivalent of a turn-based RGP, with both players identifying and experimenting with the best plays in order to outfox their opponents. And in respect, Madden 10 online is superb.
