Those Wii fans who like abit of workout at home will be happy to know that Riiflex – the dumbbell weight accessory for Wii / Wii Fit is now available for pre-order online. Shipping to begin later in the Summer this year, two colours are available, each resembling different amounts of weight. Green weighs two pounds while blue weighs four pounds (per set). While these may not be the best range of weights for those who are advanced gym goers, for parents who feel that their kids aren’t getting enough exercise simply because they sit and watch the TV too much, Riiflex might be a good way to kick start a fun exercise routine!
The guys at newconceptgaming have come up with a new gadget add on for the Wiimote and the Nunchuck. Once connected (watch the video below), no matter what game it is that you’re playing, you’ll need to be moving your legs as if you were running or jogging. If you stop, then your character within the game (for example, if you were playing Shrek) stops moving… thus you die – that’s no fun! It may not sound very fun, but for those who really need the exercise will bound to shred loads of weight just doing this.
jOG also has a pedometer attached so it counts how many steps you’ve done, I’m pretty sure you’d be amazed how many steps will have been taken in order to play a few minutes of Wii. Watch the video after the jump…
This is great news, especially for those who had been highly suspicious as to whether or not the Wii Fit was just for a laugh when it was first released. The man featured below took the experiment on himself and decided to play the Wii Fit for a continuous 45-day period to see whether he would loose any weight. In the end, as you can probably see, he’s lost quite a substantial amount -7 kgs to be precise and by the looks of it, also gained a vague six pack!? So for those kids whose parents didn’t buy them a Wii Fit just because they thought it would help you shed your weight, go and tell them there’s now living prove!
But at the end of the day, I suppose if you do enough exercise consistently, you’re bound to loose weight, I think the role of the Wii Fit here is that it just gives you enough motivation to actually do the exercise!
Wii Fit will be on sale today, but many say that Mario Kart (which is already out) would be more preferable, simply because of the fun factor involved! So which is it, would you rather enjoy some excitement driving a mario kart or would you instead like to sweat yourself like hell with Wii Fit? Don’t know how well Wii Fit will sell, but mind you I can’t find a copy of Mario Kart anywhere here in Newcastle!
