For the GC900 to bare the “Viewty” badge, it needs to live up and improve on the expectations which have been inherited from its highly reputable predecessor, the original Viewty. In this part of our Viewty Smart review, we’ve focused on testing the GC900’s multimedia features and these include music play, video play, camera and also video recording.
We apologise for the delay in publishing this second part of our LG Viewty Smart GC900 review. Having received plenty of emails, we thought the most useful way to continue our sequel was to review the main features which you folks wanted us to test out and comment on further.
We were absolutely delighted to receive the new LG 8-megapixel flagship Viewty Smart GC900 just before the weekend. So here’s the unboxing gallery, while we have a further play with it, we’ll also soon do a quick gallery comparing the new Viewty Smart with the recently launched Arena, so look out for that photoshoot!
If anyone has been thinking about buying this phone and have any specific questions on its features, do give drop us a message and we’ll address that in our upcoming review! Hit the jump for the full unboxing gallery… Continue reading »

Only have a short while since we last posted the LG Viewty Smart GC900‘s video, LG have now announced its availability in the UK.
Just to recap for those who may not have heard about the Viewty Smart. It can be considered as the second generation of the original highly successful LG Viewty, five megapixel camera phone. Like the Viewty, Viewty Smart focuses heavily on mobile photography, boasting a three inch WVGA display and equipped with an eight megapixel camera with LED flash. Full press release to follow after the jump.
The LG Viewty Smart carries on the heritage of the first LG Viewty which was one of the first full touchscreen mobiles to sport a five-megapixel camera and direct video upload onto YouTube. Having sold over 6.5 million units worldwide, the second incarnation of Viewty offers even greater enjoyment while viewing and sharing, in addition to taking still and moving pictures, with a number of upgraded features in addition to its Intelligent Shot Mode. Main features of the new LG Viewty Smart GC900 include an 8 megapixel sensor with sensitivity up to ISO 1600, a higher resolution WVGA touchscreen, a more intelligent image processor and LGs easy-to-use S-Class User Interface (UI).

When we were sent the LG Renoir KC910 for some hands on review, we were already well impressed with LG’s ability to have made such major all round multimedia improvements in the new LG Viewty successor. But now it seems LG’s plans are official and they will be taking that even further for the coming 2009. As you will have heard, just last week, a picture of a new full touchscreen phone, the LG Arena KM900 surfaced. We can now be fairly confident that this is true and this latest flagship called the LG Arena will have some very stunning features and even more so, some features which have not yet even been seen on mobile phones (not that I know of)! The LG Arena will have a unique user interface that takes the form of a 3D cube. This new cube-based layout provides four customisable home screens for direct access to all features. This makes accessing music, movies, pictures much more easier than most phones, so if you thought the LG Renoir’s updated user interface already showed vast improvement, the LG Arena’s user interface will definitely strike you as something quite unique.
Though we don’t know all about its specs at the moment, this will be revealed in greater detail in due course – Mobile World Congress, February 16th at 2.00pm (CET). All we do know from our friends at the LG Blog is the below, though I wish I could find out more about whether its got an amazing camera sooner!
