Petrolheads among us will know that Chrysler’s high performance SRT brand has unveiled recently the much anticipated all-new Viper supercar at the 2012 New York Motor Show last week. Powered by an 8.4-litre V10 producing 640hp and 600lb ft of torque, the SRT Viper is not only an American legend reborn but it also sports new tech toys previously not seen the in muscle car.

The design team LOMA-Performance, based in Germany were inspired by the military Boeing Air Force One which carries the President of the USA. The BlackforceOne is a limited edition (25-unit production) Chevrolet Corvette C6 which boasts a twin-turbocharged V8 engine generating an unbelievable 783hp. We recently featured the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG in the new Gran Turismo 6, now we’ve got more pictures of this retro-style supercar.
Underneath the bonnet is a 6.2L V8 that is capable of delivering 563 horsepower (at 6,800 RPM) and 479 pound-feet of torque (at 4,750); 0-100 kmh (62 mph) takes place in 3.8 seconds and 200 kmh (124 mph) in around 11.8 seconds.
This is amazing news for petrolheads like myself. The Mercedes SLS AMG is an awesome, new gullwing supercar, it was also the highlight of the 2009 International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt, what wonderful news it is to know its now been confirmed that we’ll be able to drive it in the upcoming Gran Turismo 5 for PlayStation 3.
Porsche last week revealed their new and even sportier 2010 911 GT3 RS. Loaded with plenty of upgraded features compared to the GT3, including a 450hp 3.8L flat-6 engine, the new GT3 RS also boasts yet unwrapped technology – a purpose-built PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management), and an optional lithium-ion battery that saves 22 pounds over the standard unit.
Ferrari’s latest entry supercar, the 458 Italia is officially the Ferrari F430’s successor. There is certainly no need for us to tell you which has the x factor. The Ferrari 458 Italia is powered by a direct-injected V8 that pumps out 568hp and 398 lb-ft of torque, 0-60mph happens in just 3.4-seconds – its no joke! Check out the full gallery:
