In case you’ve missed the latest news from Apple’s Let’s Rock Event, here’s a recap of the latest fourth-gen iPod Nano which was unveiled yesterday by Steve Jobs…
The latest iPod Nano is the thinnest iPod to date, measuring a just 6.2mm thick and weighing 36.8g. There’s a new user interface, a high resolution portrait display and a built-in accelerometer which automatically switches to Cover Flow when rotated and goes into Shuffle mode when shaken. The new iPod Nanos will be available with 8GB or 16GB capacities and have been claimed for a good 24 hours of music playback and 4 hours of video. You may have already seen, the new lineup will be as colourful as always, shipping in silver, purple, blue, green, orange, yellow, pink, red and black. Shipping now, they cost £109 for the 8GB model and £149 for the 16GB one.
This is just a quick heads up I thought would be useful for those who have missed the latest Apple event, you can now watch it from Apple on your QuickTime player, it’s available at the link (just click on the screenshot below). You can watch the whole of the event without an interruption as long as your internet connection flows ok, it’s also availabe in HD.
So we’ve seen accessories leaked regarding the next generation (fourth-gen) of iPod Nano and now another picture has been leaked, could this be just a mock up or could it be the real thing?
It’s been rumored for a long time now that the next gen iPod Nano will have nice smooth rounded corners and a better screen, could this actually be the one? It would be great if there were more info available before Steve Jobs makes his announcement on Tuesday…
Snapture is a great little app for bringing useful functions to the rather useless and basic iPhone camera, it’s nothing new and has been around for quite some time. Recently Snapture’s been updated, version 2.0, as always it will give your camera a great all-round functionality boost, such as digital zoom, delay timer, toggle auto rotation, burst mode, color modes, leveler, etc…
The latest version seems to be even better and works with iPhone firmware 2.x. As you know, Steve Jobs took no concern for an upgrade to a better camera in the latest iPhone 3G, so this latest update which will work in firmwares 2.x would help improve your all-round iPhone 3G digital photography experience! There is also a new QuickView system which allows users to view and delete recent pictures directly on the viewfinder. Bowei, the founder of Snapture claims that the feature would cut the average photo taking session in half!
After the leaked possible next gen iPod Nano silicone cases, here we have something completely different. Just an idea, these pics were found by Gizmodo from Flickr, created by someone in the name of Umpa.
While some absolutely hated the former candy bar thin design of the iPod Nano, it seems a few did appreciate it and want it back, though these are just ideas and would probably show no correlation (or would it?) as to what Steve Jobs will unveil. Nevertheless it’s worth pointing out, that Umpa’s thinking into the new iPod Nano design seems to ‘fit’ into silicone cases we showed yesterday, pure coincidence?

We all love to protect our gadgets with silicones and this latest leak might lead to some info about some upcoming Apple gadgets. There’s been not just images but products leaked this time, for sale on the popular Alibaba online trading site are what looks like new cases for iPod Nano and iPod Touch. And what I’m talking about is that it seems there will be a new design to the next generation of iPod Nano and iPod Touch. While I’m not exactly convinced about the iPod Touch ones, the iPod Nano looks to be slimmer and well, completely different as you can see.
Could it be that the Chinese manufacturers were just influenced by Engadget’s recent post, or do they actually know something that’s been kept so secretly that no one in the blogosphere knows? What I think is that we will definitely hear more of this news before the big day, September 9th when Steve Jobs will be announcing more Apple gadgets and hopefully some big improvements to the iPods…
Colorware is at it again, this time the iPhone 3G. Colorware are the people who originally brought us the first revolution against Steve Jobs’ boring iPhone colour, these guys wanted to show us that we could too have some fun and bring on our iPhones customisable colours. As well as iPhones, Colorware have expanded their quality service and expertise towards other gadgets and smartphones like the Blackberrys, Sidekick and also game consoles like the Wii, PSP, PS3 and XBox 360. They have been known to help users create colours that are unique to their taste, to me I think the best part of it all is the design process using their online studio that they offer on their site, its quite fun!
However, all the fun does come at a hefty price. For the iPhone 3G in question for example, you’re looking at $150 USD for the back, $20 for the frame, another $20 for the button, $10 for the SIM card tray and $10 for the earbuds. If you really want your whole set of iPhone to be special, you can also customise your iPhone dock at a cost of $20. So in total the maximum you’re looking at is about $230 USD!
More after the jump…
