The new Mario Kart 7 is due to release in December for Nintendo 3DS, just in time for the holiday season. A new accessory from Hori is also being released at about the same time as Mario Kart 7, it is a 3DS compatible steering wheel. It’s priced at ¥1,280 (about $17). Very similar concept to the Wii Steering wheel often used with the Wii remote and Mario Kart Wii.

By doing so, the designers believe driving will be safer as you’ll be able to keep your eyes on the road and won’t need to look towards either side to stare at your sat nav or find out who’s calling you while you’re busy driving.
