Most case mods that get featured online are usually very well done. As for this one, its been done so elegantly – its a complete disguise. The Samsung Eternity (A867), not really a popular phone known to many here in the UK is actually hidden on the underside of the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) controller you see in the photo below.
If you hop through the jump, you’re see in the video that everything works perfectly fine (the phone that is!)…
Based on a Jensen #75 steam engine, which is used to drive a Lego Technic motor. The clever inventor, Thomas uses the motor in this project, to feed into a voltage regulator circuit, providing a continuous 5V charge to what ever gadget or device is plugged into the USB end, in this case an iPod.

Back to the Future? Not exactly. It’s NASA! Those in America got the chance to enjoy a first look at NASA’s new oldschool design Orion spacecraft that will be taking humans back to the surface of the moon by the year 2020. The Orion Exploration Vehicle is part of a new fleet of vehicles that will make 21st Century space exploration possible. Weighing in at more than 8,000 kilograms, the Orion crew exploration vehicle is targeted to begin carrying humans to the International Space Station in 2015 and then to the moon in 2020, fifty years after man first stepped foot on its surface.
What you see isn’t actually an old iMac, it’s just a disguise, this video game console mod has taken advantage of the old iMac’s shell. CGCC forum member Logicdustbin decided to gut the all-in-one retro iMac and replace its inners bits with the discontinued Sega Dreamcast and 15-inch LCD monitor.
The result is the birth of iCast, though a rather unlikely dual, it is a beautiful mod well done, at least now the DreamCast in this case has become an all-in-one console, great for on the go entertainment! Continue reading »
When we were sent the Vector Tanks app for download off the iTunes App Store for a review, the instant I saw those gameplay screenshots I was overwhelmed by a burst of long forgotten memories. Indeed if you’re old enough, you will definitely know what I’m talking about.

Check out this fabulous retro PC design by Thomas who is a BA (Hons) student at the Arts Institute in Bournemouth, though this was just a one off final year project for Thomas, I certainly wouldn’t mind paying to have one of these sitting in my living room as a media centre and impressing my guests!
Its been such a long time since I even heard anyone mention about this game. Some of you who have owned the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) in the past may have even had this game come with it. Though this version of Duck Hunt isn’t exactly created by the same developers who brought the original game to life on the NES, Duck Hunt on the iPhone is played basically in the same way, which is fantastic!
There are a few differences though, there is now a Nintendo 64 style joystick controller on the iPhone’s touch screen instead of the regular keypad the NES had.
And according to Venturebeat’s analysis…
Still, the game is missing four crucial ingredients. First, it doesn’t have the game’s classic dog to pick up the dead ducks for you when you shoot them and laugh at you when you miss them (the developers note this is coming). Second, the game doesn’t have any sound, so it lacks the great mocking laugh the dog makes (the developers also note that this is coming). Third, it doesn’t have the awesome Nintendo Zapper gun (sadly, this won’t be coming, so I can’t put it up to the screen and cheat). Fourth, I’m guessing it doesn’t have Nintendo’s blessing.
I guess the fourth factor is the most crucial, though the Duck Hunt iPhone version’s developers have already acknowledged Nintendo in their application notes and called their emulator the iPES for iPhone Entertainment System. This probably won’t be enough to keep it around, so if you want Duck Hunt for your iPhone, it would be a good idea to get it through the App Store when you can (for $0.99).
If you fancy checking out how well Duck Hunt plays on your iPhone first, then watch this quick video below…
