We will still need to confirm whether this will be a Japan exclusive. But for 398,000 Yen (that’s €3080, £2758 or $4180) the latest in technology 19.5mm x 25.5mm Toshiba Dynabook SS RX2/WAJ sports a Core 2 Duo SU9400 (1.40GHz) processor, 3GB of RAM, Intel GS45 Express, DVD Super Multi and a 12.1” WXGA LCD and a 512 GB SSD (may be that’s what the price is for?). Of course, along with this price tag you will also get WiFi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth, etc. According to Toshiba, this massive 512 GB SSD runs eight times faster than a 5400rmp 2.5” HDD.
Update (31/04/2009): Thanks to those who got in touch, we’ve now posted some videos of Samsung’s new LED TVs which may be of interest.
Long gone are the days when every household would queue up to upgrade to the latest trend of LCD / plasma television sets. Samsung have now upped their game by launching their latest LED (that’s right, Light Emitting Diode) widescreen tellies.
We realise its past The Gadget Show Live now, but this isn’t a sponsored post. We reckon this infact is quite a breakthrough, we’re surprised we managed to not report about this until now. The “Light for Life” UC3.400 torch isn’t just a nonsense sales pitch, in fact, this latest in technology gadget by 5.11 could be the last torch you’ll ever need to buy again (unless you loose it of course).
Being a huge fan of bikes and eco-friendly products, I managed to sneak off to the bike stand area for some exploration! Pictured below is the A2B Hybrid electric bike by Ultra Motor which comes in black and white paint finish, and I must say these bikes looked fab and very precious. With so much focus on all things electric these days, you might be excited to know that the A2B’s lithium ion battery costs as little as 6 pence to recharge overnight. The A2B’s battery is not difficult to handle at all as it is detachable and can be charged by connecting a cable to any wall socket.
Check out Mr Heck‘s latest laptop mod. The C64 lappie features a C64C motherboard, a Gamecube power supply, and special 1541-III DTV device that emulates a floppy drive using a FAT-32 formatted SD card, the rest of this mod’s design is in keeping with the beige 8-bit spirit of the original C64. For those who are too young to even know about the Commodore 64 (C64), its ancient, it really is. I believe it was first developed in the early 80s by Commodore International, and the 64 was the value of RAM it had, in those days it was 64 kb. By the way you can find out more about it through Wikipedia of course!
Hope everyone is having a good start to the week. Here’s something which we meant to post about but somehow ended up not doing so earlier on this year. Its about Sony’s new Bravia TV range which focuses on being green, eco-friendly as well as power saving.
