It must be said that when we heard Phllips and the surfwear designer O’Neill were coming together to design a series of new headphones, we were skeptical about how well this would turn out. If you regularly follow us, you’ll have learnt that not all technology collaborations between successful brands work out well. What we have for review today is the Philips x O’Neill STRETCH TR55LX headphones.


‘The STRETCH’ is one of four in a series of headphones and earphones designed by the two brands. The others also have a trendy name which standout, the SNUG, the SPECKED and the COVERT, where the latter two are earphones. All of which have been given their ‘nicknames’ based on their features.

Latest PMPs: Philips GoGear Connect

Launched today, Philips’ global “Obsessed with Sound” campaign is centered around Philips’ passion for sound and features a video of some true connoisseurs of authentic, detailed audio: notorious music producer Steve Lilywhite who formed the sound of U2, and music engineer Geoff Foster whose alternative approach to the Batman Begins soundtrack made it unforgettable.

The new Philips Xenium X830 is one of those phones where you would be completely amazed at what it can offer in large print but then in the small print you’d find out that it actually boasts multiple flaws. We must admit this new upcoming Xenium X830 flagship does look fab, a nice three inch TFT touchscreen display with five megapixel camera and autofocus to start off with. Its main feature is of course a battery that will last you 1.5 months until your next charge if you just leave it on standby but what it lacks is often unrealised until we take a look at its full specs.

Philips has officially unveiled its super wide widescreen TV in the UK on Thursday as it attempts to offer something different to consumers aside from just another thin TV set.

The new model, called Cinema 21:9, will for the time being only come as a 56-inch model which will offer a 21:9 ratio screen. The result means that movies shot in the 2.39:1 format will completely fill the screen.
