Looks like Toshiba also wants to be apart of the touchscreen phone gang. Completely out of the blue? Well, no. It appears Toshiba has been working on it and to reveal their latest TG01 ahead of the upcoming Mobile World Congress also seems like a plan so that everyone will have had it stuck in their heads and thinking about it even before seeing all the new tech other brands will have to offer at the world congress.

Video: Yet more Palm Pre hands on

On February 2, 2009, in Cell Phones, by KLS

Hey folks, I know from your comments sent in to us that you’re all quite excited about the new and upcoming latest Palm Pre. Just this morning we learnt that there were two rather unnoticed features of the Palm Pre just recently discovered, now we’ve got here yet another hands on video for you via TreoCentral. What I like the most about the Palm Pre is its so simple to use and also just look at that stunning HVGA touchscreen display, you’ll see what I mean in the video below.

Get a free giffgaff Sim

We’ve just learnt through MobileCrunch about two minor features of the Palm Pre which turns out not many realised. As you will see in the video below, the Palm Pre has a slide to unlock feature very similar to that of the iPhone, it is optimised for one-handed, ambidextrous unlocking. All that is needed is a simple drag motion of the unlock object out of the circle and the Palm Pre will wake up. It’s also got a camera shutter that can be triggered by pressing on the spacebar which is also quite neat.

Video: CNET previews Palm Pre

On January 16, 2009, in Cell Phones, by KLS

Here’s another video for today, we’ve already featured some info on the Palm Pre but we have yet to show a proper demo of it in action so here it is folks. Probably the best function I like about the Palm Pre is that it can multitask and keep multiple applications open at the same time.

As some of you will probably have learnt Palm just got back in the game! Seriously. For those of you who have missed this news or skipped the news regarding Palm from our CES 2009 roundup, this you don’t want to miss. The latest Palm Pre is a svelte new smartphone that runs Palm’s all-new, touch based webOS mobile platform. The Pre boasts a 3.1-inch touch screen with a gesture area below, a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 8GB of internal storage, on board is WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and a 3-megapixel camera with LED flash. The Pre, initially will be available only from Sprint. The Palm phone will be sold alongside the Touchstone, an inductive charging dock that lets you charge up wirelessly just by laying the Pre on top of it, which leaves me absolutely speechless. It’s quite clear that Palm is up for a challenge, is it comparable to iPhone or RIM BlackBerry Storm or Google Android G1 or even Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, I think definitely and no doubt we will be hearing about Palm Pre for the rest of this year.

We’ve talked quite abit of CES 2009 all this week and that has dried out most of our brain juice! As you know this year’s CES is almost coming to an end. Of course, we weren’t able to cover everything. CES is always that time of the year when we are super excited about seeing all the new and emerging technology, gadgets but we hardly have enough time to show you them all. So we’ve decided we won’t do a weekly roundup like usual this week, because it’s actually been an all CES week. So in case you’ve been away for a few days, here’s a quick roundup which we’ve put together of some of the hottest new gadgets featured at the CES 2009 this week.
