The rumors have been circulating for a while now that Apple would be launching a netbook soon. This comes as no surprise as the netbook market is booming and is exactly the time when Apple would want to make their move. CNN Money as well as a few other sources (below) have already mentioned that a couple sources close to the project claims Apple has a touchscreen netbook currently in the works and that this secret product could hit the market as early as the second half of this year.
Apart from netbooks which are gaining a substantial popularity over regular sized laptops in the recent years. As you may recall, Sony’s latest VAIO P series is packaged with the Gobi chipset which is more than capable of running on both HSDPA and EV-DO for connectivity. Unfortunately, Sony (just US?) has chosen to block HSDPA access and has locked the super lightweight, pocketable notebook to connecting only via a Verizon Wireless EV-DO connection. But now, thanks to blogger tnkgrl, Sony’s restrictive plans are now virtually non-existent and those without a VZW contract will not have any problems at all when looking to connect via HSDPA. Tnkgrl has successfully hacked the HSDPA on the VAIO P, allowing it to be utilized by those not afraid to void a warranty on the $900 machine.

With the success of ASUS’s Eee PCs, its no surprise that they have further prepared themselves and for us a series of new addition to their pc lineup for this year’s CES. The one pictured is the new Asus T91, yes it does have a convertible 8.9″ touch screen and it is a netbook, that for me is already an excellent combination! But there’s bound to be more info on it when it gets announced later on, it weighs in at just 2lbs, 1″ thick and runs on Intel Atom processor.

Check out this iPod Nano case, it comes with a handy notepad within but actually the design makes it a great way to hide away or disguise your iPod too. The case is made of leather and features the notepad on one side and the holder for the iPod on the other side. There’s a hole for the earphones at the bottom and you will be able to access all the controls while your player sits safely inside the case.
