Canon offers locking mode dial for $100

On December 3, 2010, in Digital Cameras, by Salman

Set aside the Pentax fans or Nikon lovers, Canon users will remain Canon users – super loyal to their fav camera making company. Photography is a passionate hobby for me and I tend to use every mode of my camera pretty seriously to come up with amazing photographs. Things become irritating when the mode dial in my Canon camera moves to some other option without my knowledge thus disrupting the settings and killing precious time.

Nikon fans (or the so called anti – Canon group), we have something hot for you. Though news have been heating up that Nikon will soon be adding the P7000 to their Coolpix lineup and bring in D7000 (which was tagged as the ‘actual’ successor of D90), nobody had the remotest idea about the launch dates of these cameras.

Speculations were being made as expected but nothing was concrete until recently when Nikon Rumors pushed in the exact release dates of D7000 and P7000. Its been made official, not very long after we spoke about the rumored specs of a new Nikon DSLR flagship, the D3s has been confirmed to arrive this November. So what’s new in the latest D3s? With the D3 appropriately timed and out of stock it seems like Nikon will be onto something when they host their “informational event” on the 14th, this Wednesday. Many speculate that a new Nikon D3s will be likely. While the D3 which was released during May of last year was already labelled as a high-end, advanced-user 12.1 megapixel DSLR with ISO of up to 6400, capable of up 9 FPS and 1080p video recording, some believe that a new D3s will sport the following upgraded specs:

* Nikon D3s with ISO 200-12800 (D3 was with ISO 200-6400)
* New ISO range HI-3 at 102,400 ISO
* 12.1 mp FX sensor (same as the D3, but tweaked)
* 14fps
* D-movie with 24 fps/1080p
