A list has been going around and leaked onto the internet, AppleInsider claims that they have got word of all the product announcements coming today from Apple. Apple has released the wallpapers which it will be including within its new Mac OS X Snow Leopard. This is to allow its users to start thinking about which one they fancy putting on their desktop, I personally would not mind seeing them on my desktop so I would be alternating them around every half an hour or so 🙂

Justin Yu from CNET gets hands on and quickly reviews the new Mac Mini which Apple released just earlier on this month. Yes, the new Mac Mini may be eco-friendly, with new Nvidia G9400M graphics and iLife 09 on board but as always Apple products tend to be abit on the expensive side, so what’s the verdict? Check out the video after the jump…

Exactly like the spy shot which got leaked during the end of last month, Apple has now official released the latest updated version of the Mac Mini. The refreshed Mac mini continues to sport a 6.5 x 6.5 x 2 inch footprint. On its backplane the Mac mini now sports two video interfaces, a Mini DisplayPort, for connecting to Apple’s 24-inch LED Cinema Display, and a mini-DVI connector, for attaching to industry-standard DVI displays. Like the image we showed before, the new Mini now has five USB 2.0 interfaces, up from three on the previous-generation model, along with a FireWire 800 jack, replacing the FireWire 400 interface. It also sports Gigabit Ethernet, audio line in and audio line out ports.

Under the Apple shell, both the basic and “stepped up” new Mac mini models will sport 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processors with 3MB shared L2 cache. Both systems feature Nvidia GeForce 9400M integrated graphics, which are the same graphics that are featured on Apple’s MacBook laptop line. Apple claims that this enables the Mac mini to produce 3D graphics at up to five times the rate of the model it’s replacing; the previous-generation Mac mini was the last Apple product to ship with Intel GMA 950 graphics. Both models also feature 8x slot-loading “SuperDrives” capable of burning DVD media. They have AirPort Extreme wireless networking and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR built in, as well.

While the basic model will cost $599, the $799 model steps up with 2GB of 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM, twice the RAM as the base model. It also gains a larger Serial ATA (SATA) hard disk drive with 320GB of memory, versus 120GB on the basic $599 version. Of course, build-to-order options are still available and this includes a 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, up to 4GB RAM, 80GB, 250GB or 320GB hard disk drives.

Check out some screenshots of the upcoming Mac Snow Leopard OS which has apparently been leaked onto the web today. The screenshots show a number of minor improvements. Stacks now allows nested browsing, so if you click on a folder in the stack view, the old stack drops back and you can navigate the folder contents. This should prove to be very useful as the old way just opened a new Finder window.

There isn’t yet a netbook from Apple at the moment and as you will be able to recall on the post in which we wrote about netbooks which were capable of running Mac OS X, only the Dell Mini 9 and MSI Wind achieved full scores. That’s why there is now a proper guide released from Gizmodo showing you how you could install and run Mac OS X on your Dell Mini 9 and hackintosh it into a proper Mac netbook (or mini MacBook?). So before you get started, you will need to make sure you have the following.

User monthy from Macrumors forum have posted what is supposed to be the upcoming 2009 new Mac Mini. Check out the picture below, it’s got five USB ports? Apart from that there’s also an Ethernet port, Firewire, Mini DisplayPort and the old style mini DVI Mac display port, so summing up to possibly two display ports? It would even be more promising if like Gizmodo has said, if it will include at least the new Nvidia 9400 graphics chipset found in the latest MacBook and MacBook Pro.
