The new Motorola ROKR U9 was recent unveiled, though I have to say it does look much like a PEBL series phone just by looking at it’s egg-like oval shape, the phone itself does have some new and interesting features.
First of all the ROKR U9 will be available in black and red (as pictured), as you will see in the preview video just after the break, it has a new user menu interface different from the Motos’ that you’d expect to find today. Being mainly a music / multimedia phone, the U9 will be equipped with stereo bluetooth capability, what’s more is that the U9 will feature a music synchronisation function which will allow you to sync your music files from Windows Media Player on your PC.
Now here’s the part I like the most, the external display of the U9 features touch sensitive controls which are used as music keys. Unlike the RAZR 2 V8‘s external display controls, the U9 uses OLED which leaves the screen with a brilliant finishing touch. It looks as if there isn’t actually an external screen because it blends in so well with the clamshell casing around it.
