Mark Wilson over at Gizmodo has been testing different Microsoft operating systems on a few laptops, in particular netbooks. At first he tried Vista but that didn’t go well at all. Then he decided to install Windows 7 on the Dell Inspiron Mini 12 simply because he had nothing to loose. The Mini 12 is a 12-inch Intel Atom netbook and his had 1GB of RAM, surprisingly its gone well for him so far, in his opinion the netbook runs Windows 7 even better than Windows Vista. Though start menu and programs would still lag, plus aero needs to be deactivated, but does this still support the fact that Microsoft has done a good job so far with improving Windows 7 beyond Vista?

Gallery: Dell Inspiron Mini 10 comes with GPS

On January 13, 2009, in Laptops / Computers, by Admin Staff

Here comes another very glossy Inspiron Mini from Dell. The Mini 10 is a 10-inch deal powered by an Intel Atom Z530 processor running at 1.6GHz, with a glass screen, a multi-touch trackpad with gesture support, built-in GPS, 802.11n Wi-Fi, mobile broadband and even an integrated TV tuner.

That glossy 10-inch display can show 720p high-definition content, and the screen itself is a widescreen 16:9 model. An edge-to-edge keyboard helps take advantage of what little typing space is available on a laptop this size, so all being well the Mini 10 won’t be out of the question for speedy typists!

Dell didn’t release much other details at its press conference, but we’d expect Windows Vista or Windows XP on board to be likely, a couple of gigabytes of RAM and a solid-state disk option, just like the Dell Inspiron Mini 9. No prices or availability details yet, but we’ll keep you posted.

On September 26, 2008, in Auto Tech, Featured, by Admin Staff

Check out these MINIs, the craftsmen pictured have encrusted each MINI with over 30,000 colored glass tesserae – talk about patience! This creates four “artomotive” masterpieces in the themes of a Zebra, Summer Flowers, Tartan plaid and a Dama. The tesserae, each one-half inch by one-half inch in size were used to transform the vehicles, with 31,700 tesserae laid on each convertible and 37,004 on each coupe.

The new Mi.To is recognized as the modern Alfa introduced after the Alfa 8C Competizione. Mi.To is named after ‘Milan’ and ‘Turin’, based on where the car was designed and produced.

Similar to the base as Fiat Grande Punto, Alfa Romeo Mi.To is 4 meters long and just 1.4 meters high. The cost of the all new Alfa Romeo Mi.To is expected to compete with the Mini Cooper and new Ford Fiesta, although the exact price remains unclear.

Some of the features include three different driver settings which control the engine, brakes, steering, suspension and the gearbox. ‘All-Weather’ provides the best grip in difficult diving conditions, such as ‘Normal’ and ‘Dynamic’. Alfa Romeo also confirmed that the Mi.To will initially be offered with a range of four engines, with horsepower ranging from 90 to 155, with even stronger engines to be introduced later.

Alfa Romeo Mi.To will be introduced into the market in July.
