We’ve fallen deeply in love with the Samsung Omnia HD i8910 here at GadgetLite from the very start (even the non-HD version, in fact!). Recently the guys at Gizmodo got a chance to display their final verdict on what they thought of the eight-megapixel; HD video recording beast.
The video quality is surprisingly stunning, boasting excellent touchscreen response and of course 3.5mm headphone jack, the Omnia HD is certainly worth a look for those looking for their next handset. Full review here…
Check out some quick hands on photos of the new Sony Ericsson W995 or W995a which has recently launched worldwide as well as the UK.
If you’ve been looking for an all round multimedia, music orientated phone equipped with WiFi, bluetooth and a good high resolution camera, the W995 does have a nice 8.1 megapixel camera with flash making it a strong alternative for anyone who doesn’t fancy being stuck with contracts like those of iPhones’. The Samsung Omnia has really come a long way since it was first released. Phonearena have put together a nice video review of the latest version of the Omnia, the Omnia HD i8910. Not only does it have a competitive eight megapixel camera with flash, HD video recording and playback, a surprisingly good battery life, and a form factor that’s not too hard on the pocket, measuring in at just a wee bit taller and thicker than the HTC Touch HD. You will also see from the video that its AMOLED looks brilliant, highly responsive to touch and seems simple and easy to get use to.

This is just a quick update for those who are really looking forward to Palm’s latest flagship. It’s finally been leaked via the Sprint website, the Palm Pre will sport alot of the specs which we have already mentioned but in addition to that is a few things we now know is confirmed. Storage will be 8GB, it will have on board Microsoft Outlook for email, integrated IM, built in GPS, headphone jack is 3.5mm and finally 3-megapixel camera with flash (more on the specs here).
Precentral also picked up on an important point revealed within the specs by Sprint…
7.4GB will actually be available from the 8GB included, possibly implying the size of the OS is somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 megs or so (though it’s still unclear what the relationship between the 8GB of storage and RAM will be, and whether or not the Pre will use Program Memory RAM/Storage ROM/Mass Storage like Windows Mobile or have a simpler RAM/Storage setup like other phones).
Also, MMS is CONFIRMED. So is Phone-as-modem via bluetooth or USB tethering. Yes!!
All in all, its absolutely wonderful to see these specs out, Apple should start to feel scared! Am really hoping to hear more news on when the Palm Pre will arrive the UK and when it does, what network!? We’ll keep you updated on this too.
