When tablets, slates and ultrabooks first launched a few years ago, the lack of a DVD drive were a problem for some. Those who are users of the MacBook Air may have bought a Superdrive for the same reason, we’re just not quite in the era when we can do without an optical drive just yet. This week, Samsung launched the latest, ultrathin and very elegantly designed Samsung SE-218BB, at just 14mm thick, its also 8% lighter than your average external DVD drive.
Apple has decided to begin shipping a refreshed version of the popular MacBook Air next month in an attempt to stave off dwindling sales of current Air models. Many users have bought MacBook Pros in order to get a much faster machine for their money and to experience the Thunderbolt technology that’s been included in the MacBook Pro since the beginning of this year.
The new Macbook Air might be the thinnest notebook on the world, but despite its incredible design new Macbook Air has some software issues that soon needs to be addressed.

While I personally believe Steve Jobs has entered the new 11″ MacBook Air into the dying market of netbooks, he has however, created a Mac netbook like no other. With the new MacBook Air just as thin but even more lightweight (2.3 pounds), it will be an attractive netbook hard to beat.
The new MacBook Airs’ introduced tonight at the ‘Back to the Mac’ event has no optical drive as with the first generation but neither will it have a hard drive. This explains the fact that it can allow instant-on functionality. The latest MacBook Air is the first of a new generation of notebooks that leaves behind mechanical rotating storage in favor of solid state flash storage.
The MacBook Air has memory up to two times faster that is more reliable and 90 percent smaller and lighter.
