Not only has the Digg co-founder Kevin Rose predicted that copy and paste will be coming to the iPhone on the next iPhone OS update version 3.0, he has also said that the iPhone will be doing everything the Pre will be able to do (sounds like a fight coming on!). However, no background running app action or video recording. But like Alex said, at least it has “something I wanted seven f*cking years ago”. What do you guys think?

Yes, the new Mac Mini may be eco-friendly, with new Nvidia G9400M graphics and iLife 09 on board but as always Apple products tend to be abit on the expensive side, so what’s the verdict? Apple has unveiled the next generation of iPod Shuffle which will feature a newly implemented technology for iPods called Voiceover which uses a speech engine to tell you the name of the singer or the title of the song in up to 14 different languages (English, Czech, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish). At half the size of the previous generation iPod Shuffle, latest successor is just 7.8mm thick and looks even more stylish with no control buttons at all.

The rumors have been circulating for a while now that Apple would be launching a netbook soon. This comes as no surprise as the netbook market is booming and is exactly the time when Apple would want to make their move. CNN Money as well as a few other sources (below) have already mentioned that a couple sources close to the project claims Apple has a touchscreen netbook currently in the works and that this secret product could hit the market as early as the second half of this year.

ZumoDrive is a free app just recently released on the App Store which works in tandem with a downloadable desktop client (Mac OS X or Windows) to let you easily move and use files between your desktop, your laptop, and your iPhone. Unlike other apps on the App Store such as Air Sharing (which isn’t free), ZumoDrive does require you to install a lightweight free software on to your computer and requires that both your computer and your iPhone have access to the internet either via 3G, WiFi or EDGE in order for you to upload files (photos and music as well) onto the ZumoDrive server. But this isn’t too difficult, the free iPhone client supports both Windows and Mac OS X, you just need to choose the appropriate one. I suppose the major difficulty here is you’re also having to rely on ZumoDrive’s cloud for storage instead of storing files locally, but there are always good and bad views on this.

In terms of the user interface, once connected, your ZumoDrive will show up like another hard drive where you can easily drag files that show up almost immediately on other devices. What makes ZumoDrive unique is that it automatically understands not to store larger files on your iPhone, but gives you access to those files from the cloud. However, it’s important to note that the free version only allows you 1GB of space to work with, which was quite surprising to me as I would expect at least 5GB with so many large files that we need to deal with nowadays. Nevertheless the money will need to come from somewhere I suppose! Upgrading the plan on ZumoDrive to 10GB will cost $2.99 per month and so on. For most users who deal with just simple word or PDF documents, 1GB should be enough.

Check out ZumoDrive on the App Store here, or check out the ZumoDrive web.

Exactly like the spy shot which got leaked during the end of last month, Apple has now official released the latest updated version of the Mac Mini. The refreshed Mac mini continues to sport a 6.5 x 6.5 x 2 inch footprint. On its backplane the Mac mini now sports two video interfaces, a Mini DisplayPort, for connecting to Apple’s 24-inch LED Cinema Display, and a mini-DVI connector, for attaching to industry-standard DVI displays. Like the image we showed before, the new Mini now has five USB 2.0 interfaces, up from three on the previous-generation model, along with a FireWire 800 jack, replacing the FireWire 400 interface. It also sports Gigabit Ethernet, audio line in and audio line out ports.

Under the Apple shell, both the basic and “stepped up” new Mac mini models will sport 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processors with 3MB shared L2 cache. Both systems feature Nvidia GeForce 9400M integrated graphics, which are the same graphics that are featured on Apple’s MacBook laptop line. Apple claims that this enables the Mac mini to produce 3D graphics at up to five times the rate of the model it’s replacing; the previous-generation Mac mini was the last Apple product to ship with Intel GMA 950 graphics. Both models also feature 8x slot-loading “SuperDrives” capable of burning DVD media. They have AirPort Extreme wireless networking and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR built in, as well.

While the basic model will cost $599, the $799 model steps up with 2GB of 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM, twice the RAM as the base model. It also gains a larger Serial ATA (SATA) hard disk drive with 320GB of memory, versus 120GB on the basic $599 version. Of course, build-to-order options are still available and this includes a 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, up to 4GB RAM, 80GB, 250GB or 320GB hard disk drives.
