We’ve seen all sorts of great ruggedness from Panasonic over the years, and now Panasonic has released their latest notebook from its Toughbook series, the Toughbook S9 has been claimed by Panasonic to be the world’s lightest 12.1-inch laptop with DVD drive.
Unfortunately only to be available for those of you in Japan and some parts of Asia. ASUS’s new 19.6 mm-thick UM30 laptop, weighs 1.40 kg, boasts a nice sleek design finish with its shiny aluminum body. It is well equipped with Intel Core 2 Duo SU 9400 processor and runs Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. A 13.3 inch TFT color LCD display with LED backlight, 320 GB HDD, 3GB DDR2 SDRAM are among its main specs. It will also support SD, SDHC, Mini SD and MMC.

Panasonic last week officially launched their new Lumix DMC-GF1, its third Micro Four Thirds camera at the IFA in Berlin. Claimed to be thw world’s smallest and lightest possible DSLR camera with built in flash, the GF1 comes in three colours – red, white and black and has a retro-like thin body design that challenges that of the Olympus E-P1 “PEN”.
As an outdoor person, we were most delighted to be given a chance to try out this new USB GPS travel logger by i-gotU. For those not familiar with what a GPS logger actually does, by attaching this tiny gadget to a backpack or just pocket it after turning it on, we will then be able to add GPS to keep a record or show others when and where we have been to together with details like the exact longtitude and latitude, speed, altitude, etc. Continue reading »
To make sharing the details mentioned above even more easier, i-gotU comes with an extremely easy to use “@trip PC” (linked to www.a-trip.com account) software which functions as a data import client quickly allowing you to manage,geotag and share your recent trips onto blogs as well as photosharing sites such as Flickr and Picasa.
Samsung has launched their latest ebook reader SNE-50K in the South Korean market. The SNE-50K ebook reader is an ultrathin, 9mm thick device which only weighs in at 6.5 ounces. Its also got a large 5-inch touchscreen display and a 512MB internal storage. However, a major downside is that the SNE-50K has neither Wi-Fi or 3G connectivity functions.
