Simultaneous Interpretation System is a real-time language-translating device developed by a Japanese company DoCoMo. As for this device, it is using several cloud-based services to recognize your words. After recognizing your words, the Simultaneous Interpretation System translates them and turns them into words of speech of another language.

In the last few days it seems Google has upped its translation services by allowing users to upload an entire document for translation into different languages. In the past Google’s translation services have only supported snippets of texts or entire web pages by entering a URL and choosing the source and output languages.

Now this added function will definitely benefit alot more users who hope save time and get more out of translating their content. The only concern at this point is that the results are in HTML format as opposed to the format of your originally uploaded file. So if you upload a spreadsheet you won’t get a translated, downloadable spreadsheet in return.

Apple has unveiled the next generation of iPod Shuffle which will feature a newly implemented technology for iPods called Voiceover which uses a speech engine to tell you the name of the singer or the title of the song in up to 14 different languages (English, Czech, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish). At half the size of the previous generation iPod Shuffle, latest successor is just 7.8mm thick and looks even more stylish with no control buttons at all.
