Here’s the video of the film we mentioned the other day made to raise awareness of hybrid technology and in this case, features the latest Toyota Hybrid Auris.
Not particularly being the ‘Top Gear’ type petrolhead, I admire hybrids and hybrid technology. If you’re in the UK, I’m sure you’ve seen the latest Hybrid version Toyota Auris at some point on the road. In relation to this, Toyota and glue isobar have teamed up to create a film.
This near production Honda CR-Z hybrid concept which was first showcased at the Tokyo Motor Show back in 2007 will soon be concept-no-more as it is queued to hit the Japanese production lines. The Honda CR-Z is a technology packed two seater, hybrid (and might I say looks like a really cool hot hatch) with a 1.5L 4-cylinder engine, with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Designed to definitely appeal to the younger generation of new drivers, it does look alot like the Honda Insight (a more family orientated hybrid from Honda) but it doesn’t boast the Insight’s CVT and of course it looks alot more sportier!
Here’s abit of auto tech for this morning folks, the Toyota Prius is pretty well known for being the top of the class when it comes to hybrid technology. In the new 2010 version, on board technology has been much improved, both under the hood and within the cabinet. I especially fancy that solar panel equipped roof!

If you’ve got a lawn on an uphill incline, you’ll know the difficulty of lawn mowing, especially if its really steep. This latest in hybrid technology remote control lawn mower by Evatech has been designed to tackle this problem, not only does it allow you to sit back, relax and let it do the work for you but it also saves you fuel because its a hybrid!
Every manufacturer is on about hybrid technology these days so why can’t lawn mowers? With over 40% efficiency on fuel compared to standards, this remote control robotic mower can climb inclines as steep as 75 degrees, surpassing any other mowers of its class. This makes it incredibly fun and safe to mow through steepy grass lawns efficiently, watch the video after the jump and see it in action…
Which Asian automaker is lagging behind in producing hybrid technology cars? If you guessed Hyundai, you’re absolutely correct. However, the South Korean founded company could just be about to make a big leap, ahead of many of its rivals who are already in the game. Hyundai has recently unveiled their plans for 2010 by showcasing the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Concept. As you will expect with such great buzz, this isn’t just any old electric motor. Hyundai will be incorporating into it what they are now calling lithium polymer technology, which is different to the lithium ion battery now found in the majority of hybrids.
The end result as claimed is quite impressive, considerable reduction to size (seems like from the video it will be just a tiny bit thicker than a piece of paper). Lightweight, while at the same time providing more energy and better battery efficiency over the long term.

We all realise the reason why we’re all encouraged to take the bus now and then, instead of driving our own to cut down on individual carbon emissions, but are our local buses eco-friendly enough? They may be, but not nearly as ‘green’ as this one!
The new Volvo 7700 Hybrid, is the world’s first hybrid bus…
Volvo has created the Volvo 7700, the first hybrid bus that is promising major green delivery. The 7700 promises to reduce fuel consumption by 30% – a perfect solution to the rising fuel prices. In addition to the lower fuel consumption, the Volvo hybrid reduces the discharge of particles and nitrous oxides by 40-50% compared to the diesel bus. Hang on, cause it only gets better! Volvo has equipped these sweet little beauties to run as a parallel hybrid. Using the Volvo I-Sam hybrid system, the bus can be powered by the electric motor which is charged by the braking system, or the diesel engine which can be used separately or simultaneously.
