Due to arrive in the New Year here in the UK via Vodafone, Nokia’s relatively new N900 Maemo mobile phone tablet gets turned into a controller for the PlayStation 3 game console. The hack in question is in fact a new application currently still being improved and is in its early stages. Its known as BlueMaemo Bluetooth emulator and allows the N900 to mimic bluetooth devices.

So far the iPhone Dev Team have been reluctant to release their jailbreak and unlock tool for the iPhone 3GS. Though the Dev Team says this is possible, they feel that iPhone OS firmware 3.1 which may soon be released will cause a rapid repeat of their cat and mouse game with Apple. So where is this non-Dev Team jailbreak method coming from? George or GeoHot says the following…
Normally I don’t make tools for the general public, and rather wait for the dev team to do it. But guys, whats up with waiting until 3.1? That isn’t how the game is played. We release, Apple fixes, we find new holes. It isn’t worth waiting because you might have the “last” hole in the iPhone. What last hole…this isn’t golf. I’ll find a new one next week.

We know that the Palm Pre isn’t just capable of multitasking but also emulating the NES for some retro gaming. But did it ever occur to anyone that it could also run Playstation games? This is exactly what this latest development has done. ZodTTD who is a master in this specialty has in the past done similar work for the iPhone, this time though he used his jailbroken Palm Pre and loaded up his Playstation psx4all emulator for some Wipeout gameplay.

We’ve updated the article because there is now an even better, simplier method does downgrades your iPhone 3G’s baseband back down from 02.30 to 02.28 allowing you to unlock your iPhone 3G using yellowsn0w for use with any network.
As you can see in the screenshots above, this new tool called 3G Fuzzyband Downgrader automatically checks your bootloader version to make sure it is 5.08 and then downgrades your iPhone 3G’s baseband for you seaminglessly.
