Like turn by turn navigation, Google’s latest offer – Transit Navigation (in beta) brings GPS guided stop-by-stop directions to over 400 cities around the globe. Using your location along the route, Transit Navigation will alert you when its time to get off at your destination or to make a transfer.

Transit Navigation does require your Android device to be 2.1+, make sure you hit update to get your Google Maps for mobile up to the latest version before trying it out.

Google has successfully launched Google Maps for Mobile 5 which will boast of dynamic map drawing and offline mode for those who happen to get disconnected from the Internet more often. With the launch of updated Google Maps people will be able to enjoy the 3D version of the urban scene around them instead of the older style Google Maps.

Korean police raids Google’s Korean office

In dramatic turn of events the Korean police has raided the Google’s offices in Korea so as to confiscate the street view data that Google has been collecting in order to launch the Street View there. Google has been working pretty seriously to launch the Street View in Korea and henceforth has been collecting images of streets around Korea like anything.

They have deployed fleets of cars that have their special camera which continuously captures street views which is then processed in Google’s labs in order to come up with the final set of images that we enjoy on our machines.
