Would you fancy a 24 karat gold plated MacBook Air with a bejeweled version of the classic rainbow Apple? I have to say it’s great to look at, especially if you’re obsessed with gold! But I don’t see how this MacBook Air will be practical in anyway, would be too worried about damaging it or scratching it, nevermind what goes on inside! The Air within is just a standard 1.6ghz/2gb/80GB which costs at most $1,799 USD on the Apple Store and even cheaper if you find it elsewhere like Amazon or eBay, but for a 24k gold plated one, you would be looking at $5000 USD…

Computer Choppers reveal their 24 karat gold-plated MacBook Air…

Obviously adding weight to the MacBook Air is an issue because lightweight is its main selling point, however, according to Gizmodo who talked with Alex Wiley from Computer Choppers…

The weight hasn’t noticeably changed since it’s plating. The jewelry may add an ounce or two if that. Diamonds and jewelry depend on what the customer asks for, the rainbow is 14kt gold with 3.8ctw sapphires adds another $3000 USD.

Yes, to celebrate David Beckham’s 100th contribution to the English national football team, his colleagues (yes, all millionaires) got him a 32Gb iPod Touch that’s been personalised just for him in gold (costs round about £600).

David Beckham’s 100th England cap brings him… a golden iPod Touch???

Might this be the one and only or will more of these be produced for profits, who knows?

Personally, I’m not a great fan of Motorola mobile phones, but I couldn’t resist writing about this geeky + sexy gadget decoration. Unless I was very wealthy, I wouldn’t think for an extra second to want to customise my Motorola KRZR with precious gems and crystals. But then again, I suppose many would like it or else, why would Goldstriker come up with this idea?

Motorola KRZR with Swarovski crystals?

Apparently the Moto KRZR pictured above will cost about $1,200, what you get for paying this price is a handset coated with 336 gem crystals from Swarovski. It’s actually quite a good deal if you think about it, at roughly just $3 a crystal, you just have no choice but to buy all 336 crystals thats all! :)

Das Keyboards are designed to produce even greater speed by providing responsive, tactile feedback with its new gold-plated and clicky high-end mechanical key switches.

However, to me the most obvious and important feature of these keyboards is that they’re not labelled and are completely blank! They theory behind this, as suggested on the Das Keyboard site, is that like playing the piano which is also completely blank, you train your brain to remember the keys and thus as time goes, you type faster and more accurately?
