Guy makes a motor to control his boat so that he doesn’t need to paddle so hard, fair enough. But what would a geek do? Hmm, this geek in the video below decided to do more than the average man. He decided to create a motor that could be controlled using his Wii mote, extremely geeky, but clever!

Photoshopped, Canon ‘cameraphone’…

I don’t know if anyone has seen this, it’s been digged in quite a few other sites, but I had to show it here!

Check out these very cool LED lamps that changes its colour according to the environment its in, thus the name Chameleon as many is calling it. The idea behind this is quite clever, but it seems as though applying it to a lamp seems rather pointless to me. And at £100 each, it would be a bit difficult to persuade a purchase off me!

Created by Japanese designers Makoto Hirahara and Shinya Matsuyama, this 2.5″ LED lamp sports red, green and blue lights and operates like a one-pixel camera. How it works is, by pressing the top bit of the lamp, the LEDs will measure the amount of reflected light from the surface it’s sitting on to find out what the colour is They then change their intensity to recreate that colour on the top.

I wonder what happens if you place it in between two different colours? Watch the LED lamp demo after the break…

I’m not a great fan of Buffalo products, in fact I haven’t actually bought anything from Buffalo as yet, but this latest invention is a brilliant idea. The wireless keyboard featured below is well equipped with 2.4 GHz radio frequency technology and offers users up to 17 hot keys (great for you lazy lot!).

Over at the top right is the solar panel, it is adjustable so you will be able to ‘get the most’ out of your solar energy. The only thing is I don’t know exactly how this will work, it would sound abit pointless to have a solar panel if it also requires some sort of battery in place to work, sometimes these things happen but I’m not sure.

Though we don’t know how much indoor light it will actually need to get it ‘warmed up’? One thing is probably certain, gamers don’t expect great performance if you’re planning on buying this piece of environmentally friendly gizmo, however I do look forward to finding more about it. The Buffalo wireless ‘green’ keyboard will soon be released in Japan for approximately $128 USD.

We’re always mad about new technology / gadget concepts and that’s why we decided to report about the Chess car even though we didn’t actually like the look of it :( The Chess mobile is a concept by Dutch designer Frans Hegge and Thijs van der Zanden.

What’s the idea behind it and why does it look like this? The idea is that driving it will ensure more passenger and driver safer, the cabin / spacewagon-like thingy resting on top of a platform that can move it around in the unfortunate event of a crash, can keep passengers out of the deformation zone (the area of the car that is subjected to most impact). In theory, the passengers would experience a lot less of the force, or at least the cabin wouldn’t be smashed in, so injuries are a lot less likely.

Theoretically great, safe and ‘futuristic looking’, but I wonder how many wouldn’t mind sitting in one of these, may be it’s just me, the look of it doesn’t appeal to me at all, but maybe this is what future cars will look like in 20 – 30 years time!
