There is no doubt the so-called ‘mp3 player’ / digital audio player market has been over saturated with so many choices and alternatives over the years. While iPods may have become the ‘gold standard’ due to Apple’s raise to fame rather than true performance and reliability. Other brands have had to struggle their way into consumers’ peripheral vision, one way many have been able to do this is by significantly cutting their devices’ price and offer even more features.

With the official news that RIM was finally going to release their PlayBook Tablet (originally rumored the ‘BlackPad’ by the media), I’m genuinely excited as at last we’d soon be seeing a new tablet that would be ‘different’. Its finally arrived! We’ve just been sent Sony Ericsson’s first Android phone, the XPERIA X10. With a 1GHz Snapdragon chip from Qualcomm, 4-inch capacitive touch display, an 8.1 megapixel camera, and the new “Rachael” Android UI by SE, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 has been available to users here in the UK since late last month.

Feedback and comments so far have been pretty good, demonstrating that its been a good 2010 entry into the Android market for Sony Ericsson.
