There is a process called the digital textile printing that allows designers to integrate solar cells into clothing or bags by printing fabric that matches the pattern of the solar panel and researchers of North Carolina State University are looking to exploit this idea into the possibility of charging your gadgets using this method in the future. You might argue that something like this is already available (ZegnaSport Jacket), but what we are talking about is actually having the solar cell technology incorporated into the fabric itself and not just having a solar ring wrapped around your neck.
At present there is no news on whether this will go into production of any kind, thus remain just an idea or concept, however the future of this does look bright as researchers have already demonstrated that this method does not cause any harm to those wearing it. The possibility of wearing a true ‘solar energy gadget charging jacket (please suggest a better name!)’ may not be too far away…
If you’re an AV freak yourself, then you can’t possibly miss out on this piece of iconic geek wear. This t-shirt designed by Olly Moss symbolises your interest in AV without having to say a single word, just let people have a look at your back (and a tiny bit in the front)!
I suppose these latest in geeky fashion don’t necessary have to be for girls, you can wear them as well if you’re a man if you’re used to wearing earrings! Though these will cost you as much as $19 USD a pair, BlackBerry fans will love to get their hands on a pair of these. Just one thing though (my advice), if you’re wearing these, try not to put your BlackBerry phone next to your ear at the same time, that would not look so fashsionable, just extremely geeky…
Not entirely sure how to put it, are these gadgets or shall I say latest in technology, thus the question mark. This is no joke, this is serious stuff, policewomen in Germany have been testing these for the last two months and have finally been allowed to officially use them. They are made of cotton, polyester, spandex and polyamide, these magical bras are a legitimate safety precaution and will be worn by 3,000 German police women who are often at the very frontline of duty.
I always like gadgets that are built around to helping those that are disabled by long-term conditions and the Vibering, though just a concept, is one that targets those with hearing difficulties. I think from just looking at the Vibering, you couldn’t tell it was something designed to help someone with a disability, it looks quite fashionable too and for me that is what makes it stand out.
As you can see, the concept of Vibering is based on helping people with hearing difficulties by vibration, the whole set consists of a wristwatch and two rings. How it works is quite simple and has been illustrated in the gallery below. The rings worn on either hands are used as sound detectors, detecting sound from either side of the person’s surrounding and environment. When sound is detected from a particular side, then it warns the user that something like a car may be behind /near them by vibrating.
The Vibering is also able to detect and translate a number of phrases to the wristwatch, so the watch will act as a ‘communicator’ for the user, for example if someone was calling their name, the Vibering would be able to alert them of this.

Ah, Eton Shirts, we all know they are expensive, just a normal plain white one can cost round about £100 – £150 pounds, but what about this one below…
![]()
The shirt you see in the picture have been made by Eton (yes, also in white) to celebrate their 80th anniversary of shirt making. This thing costs £23,000, like the price of buying a used Porsche. Apart from the extra ordinary price, it’s also ultra special by Eton standards. It’s said to be made of the finest Egyptian cotton yarn. The studs and cufflinks are diamond encrusted, the studs have coloured diamonds and the cufflinks have the plain old normal diamonds. The fancy shirt is touring the world passing through some of Eton’s stores including Milan, LA and Stockholm and will be auctioned off for charity next year.
