New Palm Web OS phone – Pixi announced

On September 10, 2009, in Cell Phones, by Admin Staff

Palm has officially made the Pixi their new Web OS phone. The Pixi as most will imagine would be a step higher and more advanced than the Pre but in fact, it isn’t and some may even regard it as the simplified version of the Palm Pre more suited for those not really into multimedia functions.

If you had the Pre, take out its wifi, remove 80 pixels of vertical resolution, downgrade its camera to two megapixels, add support for Yahoo! and LinkedIn syncing, a preinstalled Facebook application, and what you get is the new Pixi.

It’s out! Finally a proper Facebook app update which I have really been looking forward to. The new Facebook app version 3.0 for the iPhone / iPod Touch aims to make staying connected to and sharing updates with your friends an even easier experience than before.

Probably the features which I have personally been most wanting to see is support for landscape mode, zooming photos, seeing latest b-day and updates and of course a complete photo management entirely from your iPhone. For iPhone 3GS users, you will definitely be delighted to know that the new Facebook 3.0 app now finally gives you the ability to upload videos which you have recorded.

Its Saturday June 13th, and you know what that means guys, pick your Facebook username day? Aka Facebook vanity URL day, if you forgot it was today, you better hit the link below and pick the name you would like to be in your new Facebook profile page url quick as its already been going on for hours (since 9pm PST)!

facebook-logoFor those that don’t know what this is all about, Facebook have already had several attempts in the past to properly organise the look of their URLs, ie horrible looking ones like: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=xxxxxxxxx&ref=name. This is likely to be the last time Facebook will be thinking about making any changes to its users’ profile page URLs. The downside to this is that users on Facebook will need to race to pick their desired name ie: http://www.facebook.com/yourdesiredname, and that name can be anything you like! Although Facebook’s own staff have already had the first chance to pick their favourites before anyone else, there are definitely plenty more to choose from.

The below are the few rules you will need to adhere to before you head off:

  • After you pick your name, you can’t change or transfer it so be wise and keep it short is what we would advise!
  • Usernames much be in basic text, at least 5 characters long, and include only alphanumeric characters (A-Z, 0-9), or a period or full stop (”.”).

Running a feature familiar to PSP owners known as Remote play. The Aino has been equipped with the privelge to allow its user to connect to his / her PS3 from anywhere around the globe. With the Aino, all the content on your PS3 is at your fingertips.
