From the coming month’s issue of Wired, check out this Millennium Falcon, origami style – oh yeah! Can’t get enough of origami? The creator, Philip Schulz, has a website full of Star Wars origami directions, from Star Destroyer to Destroyer Droid, TIE Fighter, almost every ship in the imperial and rebel fleet.
For now, here’s the Millennium Falcon, click on it to enlarge…
This is a converted vintage PlayStation created by Max Maruszewski. It’s fully functional and complete with controller ports. Though Lego is our favourit-est thing in the world, the things that it enables us to create sometimes seems abit too delicate. You can click on the below gallery to have a complete view at the different angles. Overall, I would say it was put together extremely well, an excellent way to show your friends that you don’t have to have the latest console to be cool!
If you’ve got an old Windows XP pc like we do but can’t seem to get much done with it simply because it’s just too slow then here’s a possible solution for you. Don’t want to get your hands dirty or spend any extra money upgrading its system memory then just pop in one of those usb flash drives you have lying around. It doesn’t matter if it’s a desktop or a laptop.
This isn’t actually a hack of any kind, it is actually a function that’s been sitting there and waiting for you to activate the whole time! It really does work, at no extra cost, plus helps you make use of flash drives that are no longer of use to you. It takes only a few minutes and a restart to do, you will notice the difference in speed (depends on how much memory you give it though) immediately after restarting!
Here’s an example screenshot…

If you think this is for you, then watch the video after the break…
There are a number of ways which you can give your WiFi signal abit of boost, some cost money (like the Wi-Fire) and some don’t.
Obviously at a time like this, who would want to spend too much money on gadgets that don’t always guarantee the best results, so if you’re keen on a small DIY project this holiday season, consider emptying out some Pringles cans (which is amazingly easy to do) and follow this video, it’s only about two minutes long.
It seems quite a few modders, like Ben Heck are not too impressed with the lack of mobility in game consoles these days. This console modder probably went on road trips quite alot and decided enough was enough. The Xbox 360 mod you are about to see has a completely functional LCD display built within, which means no more looking around for a tele or carrying an extra display with you on your trip. It’s even got USB speakers to make it a truly mobile and portable experience. What you see there isn’t even the finished product, the modder plans on giving the entire case a makeover to clean things up a bit.
You will need to click on the link below to watch the video but it’s worth it!
This is certainly something you don’t see everyday, an iPhone owner decided to take on a little iPhone project and built this device for his dog and also for his own personal geeky satisfaction.
Myers used an I/O module and servo smart board from ioBridge, a servo, an old CD spindle case, some cardboard and wood scraps, a large syringe plunger, and a webcam to build his device, and then used the ioBridge web interface to create a widget that controlled the device. No programming was required. The system generated javascript that was then embedded into a web page optimized for the iPhone screen…
This iPhone controlled dog treat dispenser thus allows him to check up on his dog and give it treats.
