Since Acer acquired Gateway and Packard Bell along with it, Packard Bell’s PC lineup has been relaunched with a touch of Acer inspiration. Not surprisingly so has Packard Bell’s high end ixtreme computer package.

Gallery: Acer Aspire Revo unboxed

On April 27, 2009, in Laptops / Computers, by Admin Staff

The hugely popular NVIDIA Ion-platform based Acer Aspire Revo recently got unboxed by the folks over at Engadget. Despite being a Mac user, I too wanted to see how well this rather portable nettop design by NVIDA-Acer works. Unfortunately, it was only an engineering sample which Engadget have commented that it could be “buggy”, so far they haven’t yet updated any further info on its performance. Nonetheless, its looking good and we reckon it should live up to its expectations so far.

Latest BenQ nScreen i91 all in one PC

On March 30, 2009, in Laptops / Computers, by Admin Staff

BenQ’s all in one iMac like nScreen i91 was announced last month and has finally arrived in Asia (though we think its also available in Australia, please confirm if anyone knows!). Though we don’t exactly know whether this iMac competitor may be arriving any other countries at the moment, the i91 does look to be a piece of cool gadget for websurfing and daily use. The i91 contains two key “Yukon” parts: the Sempron 210U processor and the M690E integrated chipset. The Sempron runs at 1.5GHz and is coupled with 1GB of 667MHz DDR 2 memory. The i91 can be picked up with either 4 to 16GB of solid-state storage, or 120 to 250GB hard drive capacity. On board is also 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, 10.100Mb/s Ethernet and a pair of USB 2.0 ports.

Lenovo IdeaCentre 600 is believed to be the world’s thinnest all-in-one desktop PC, with it’s 21.5 inch frameless screen. It’s a powerful desktop PC supporting most of the high specifications that you can think of, which could be an alternative choice for those who don’t like the Apple iMac. One of the cool feature not to miss is the 4-in-1 optional remote controller, which functions as an airmouse, Skype VOIP handset, media centre/TV remote and accelerometer controller for games, quite different from a typical iMac’s volume / play / pause Frontrow remote. It’s fantastic news for entertainment and gaming enthusiants. The standard price is to start at $999.
