Not sure why Radio Shack is super excited about T-Mobile’s G2 (aka HTC Desire Z) but they surely seem to be taking the launch of this smartphone above anything else. We hardly hear any news from Radio Shack unless it is about T-Mobile’s G2. It was Radio Shack that first came running with the discounted launch of G2 disappointing the likes of Best Buy and again it is Radio Shack that is barking about being the first to launch T-Mobile’s G2 ahead of any other retailer. If you missed this news earlier on last week, the HTC Desire Z is also known as the T-Mobile G2 in the US. The HTC Desire Z will feature QWERTY keyboard and it will have HTC Sense UI and the new HTCSense.com services as well. Besides that, this phone comes with Android OS 2.2 and it uses QWERTY slider keyboard. As for the hardware specs, you’ll be pleased to know that HTC Desire Z is powered by 800MHz processor, and that it’s using 512 MB of RAM.

There has been several high end HTC smarthpones recently such as HTC Desire, HTC Incredible and HTC EVO 4G. All of them are amazing phones but they have one single flaw, they don’t have QWERTY keyboard. Many users are used to QWERTY keyboards as it offers greater convenience for IMing, emailing and blogging for example. So in order to fill the needs of its customers and rival against the Milestone, HTC is working on a phone similar to HTC Desire but with built in keyboard.
Shown off in the video below at the CTIA are the HTC Smart, HTC HD2, HTC HD Mini and their latest Android based relatives HTC Legend and HTC Desire.
Interestingly Eric Lin revealed HTC’s new collection have been designed by One and Co, the design company HTC bought recently and who designed the iconic HTC Touch Diamond.
We all know that Apple rules the world, but I have a fascination for HTC models and this is the only reason why I can’t miss out any minute news related to HTC. Many of the HTC fans like me have been waiting to see Desire Phone in the markets. It is believed that with similar specs to that of Google’s Nexus one, HTC Desire will take over the Nexus model.
