Unlike Android users, if you’re an iOS device owner you’ll have noticed you don’t have the luxury of choosing fancy ‘live’ / moving wallpapers. I’ve found this especially annoying as an iPhone 4 user because the retinal display would have been brilliant for this task should Apple have enabled this feature. But the obvious downside would have been a compromise to battery life. Nevertheless vWallpaper is an app that’s been around for a while but now compatible with iOS 5.
As you will have guessed correctly, such a function would not possibly be authorised by Apple and hence the app is available for download only via Cydia meaning you will need to jailbreak your iOS 5 device.

If you want to turn your iPad into a phone and make regular calls, you now have the chance to do so with the PhoneIt-iPad app. As you might remember, we wrote earlier about PhoneIt-iPad app while it was still in development stage, but now let’s see what the final release has to offer.
It really isn’t a catch. The folks at iPhoneIsLam have been working on an application that will turn your iPad 3G into a fully iPhone-capable iPad. The way the iPad 3G was meant to be in the first place.
This means the result is that iPad 3G users will be able to make and answer calls, send texts / SMS and FaceTime – no hardware alteration whatsoever is needed.
Its now been a number of years since iPhone Dev Team unleashed this amazing tool and to say how important the role of ultrasn0w has been to many iPhone users would be an understatement. Anyone who relies on their carrier / network to be unlocked in order to use their iPhone 3G, 3GS and iPhone 4 on another GSM carrier, now has the opportunity to take the iOS 4.3.1 upgrade while remaining unlocked thanks to ultrasn0w 1.2.1.
With the launch of Apple’s iPad 3G this week, most users will have been having one thing on their mind, is it jailbreakable / unlockable? As Geohot demonstrated shortly after iPad WiFi launched, it is indeed jailbreakable, it is just a matter of time when either Geohot or the iPhone Dev Team releases their magic to the public. In the video below, MuscleNerd from the iPhone Dev used the “Spirit” jailbreak, a software that promises untethered unlocking of Apple’s recent devices, therefore its not just the iPad concerned but also iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3G. The Dev Team has promised to release Spirit to the public soon.
GeoHot wasn’t joking when he said jailbreak for the Apple iPad wouldn’t take long to achieve. We mentioned it before the iPad launch and also after and now, this picture nicely reinforces that fact – jailbreak for Apple iPad using blackra1n should be upon us very soon.
No downloads available yet, but it really shouldn’t be long now…
While there is still some time to go before anyone will be able to get their hands on an iPad. Those of you who are already dreaming of having the new Apple device may start “pretending” that you have one. If you have the iPhone or the iPod Touch and have had it jailbroken, you can now change the theme / UI on your device so that it looks literally the same as that of the iPad which runs the iPhone OS version 3.2. In fact, if you go through the entire list we have provided below, your iPhone or iPod Touch will more or less function similar to an iPad as well!
