Theres all kinds of foldable bikes on the market and the Strida has been around since 1987. With its innovative design, it is still considered as one of the best of its kind, weighing only 10 kg, with a greaseless belt drive and boasting a fold/unfold-in-10 secs design.
Despite having its closest relative, the even smaller A-bike, your energy-speed conversion cannot be accomplished more effectively than on the Strida. The only down side is it does have its difficult moments when one attempts to go up a slope and it just attracts too much attention whilst on the road !
As a cyclist myself I couldn’t be more happier to see this concept become reality. The video after the jump features LightLane, a bicycle light concept which aimed to increase safety of cyclists by using “super-bright red LEDs” along with two highly visible diode-pumped solid state green lasers to project a path which appears as a bike lane.
How would you like to help two miniature alien motorcyclists and an ATV rider that have crash landed on Earth to rebuild their space ship so that they can go home? This is the story behind the Space Bikers game app sent in to us for a review by Chillingo, already available for the iPhone and iPod Touch.
This very cunning looking helmet concept called the Gladiator is a latest design by Canedo Studio for cyclists. Ever rode your bike on the road to find yourself having to keep up and exhaust yourself just because cars behind you were so intimidating? Well if you worn the Gladiator Helmet, not only do you no longer need to be patronised on the road but you will be the one doing the patronising! I suspect you won’t even need to look back because the claw-like rear design of the Gladiator Helmet is already good enough to scare off any road rage!
Some kids these days can be so keen when it comes to DIY, sometimes more so than adults themselves and this is an excellent example of that. Over at instructables, we just stumbled across this really useful and unique DIY which in my opinion would be greatly appreciated by cyclists who too enjoy abit of DIY for their rides. This 13-year old has designed signal lights which flashes as the cyclist riding the bike turns, that way cars from behind not only sees a bike ahead but also knows the cyclist is about to turn.
