vzw-blackberry-storm-leftThere was a rumor about the possbility of launching a next gen BlackBerry Storm 2 with WiFi on Verizon Wireless some time ago, but this was thought by most as a joke at first. However, sources have now confirmed that the rumor was in fact true. The BlackBerry Storm 2 will launch on Verizon with WiFi, obviously for far more greater connectivity and faster web browsing. I personally believe WiFi has been the single most importantly let down for the Storm, otherwise it would have been a far greater device with much more popularity. Sources also confirm that the next Storm, Storm 2 has a new screen technology, which aims to make typing easier. It is believed that the Storm 2 will be launching around September time, which makes you think – BlackBerry has reduced the cycle time of its first full touchscreen device to less than a year, they must be in a hurry!

This year’s Mobile World Congress hasn’t been a massive event for Nokia, but they have now unveiled the next and upcoming N-Series flagship. The new Nokia N86 is a slider phone featuring an 8 megapixal camera with Carl Zeiss Tessar lens, autofocus, fast mechanical shutter that should reduce motion blur and a dual-LED flash. Importantly, photos can be geotagged due to the integrated GPS. It also has a 8GB internal memory with a TV-out and a microSD slot. It has a numeric keypad with t9ers, good news for txters. Other highlights of the Symbian S60 phone include a 2.6-inch, scratch-resistant OLED display, stereo Bluetooth support, Wi-Fi, e-mail support, an FM transmitter, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Overall, it is a nice and easy to use phone. Check out our gallery for more pictures of this phone.

Another version of iPhone Pro

On January 7, 2009, in Cell Phones, Gadgets, by SSC

Remember our previous post about the concept of dream iPhone Pro? Now here is another version of the iPhone Pro from Mat, as Apple is unlikely to release an iPhone with a physical sliding Keyboard. Mat has created a potential physical keyboard accessory for those people who hate touch screens. The keyboard looks simple but blending nicely with the iPhone itself. It is a much smaller and portable keyboard compare to the one which is available on the market (produced by BTKeyMini). Just in case you didn’t know about it, click here to our previous post about that keyboard.

It’s believed to be the world’s only pink iPhone 3G, it was just sold on ebay auction today for GBP 400. However, it’s uncertain whether it’s an OEM job or made to appear as if it’s OEM. This could be a good idea if Apple were to mass produce a wide range of colours for the iPhone, it will certainly attract more female users and possibly to boost sales.
