2012 Audi A7 in a slightly different form

On September 11, 2011, in Auto Tech, Geeky, by KLS

Designed by Taras Lesko, graphics designer, this is not your average Audi A7 sportback. The A7 pictured below is in fact handmade of paper but to extraordinary detail – both its exterior and interior. The incredible papercraft model was recently featured at Audi’s presentation at the New York Auto Show, altogether it took Taras 245 hours to put together, the results are well worth it.

On February 22, 2011, in Auto Tech, by KLS

Its that time of the year again when we see lots of concept renderings in time for the Geneva Motor Show 2011, but we weren’t expecting this, an A3 saloon concept? Audi A3s here on the road in the UK are a well recognised hatchback face but to take it into saloon territory? As always though, the teaser sketch does make the concept extremely attractive to behold.

Gallery: New Audi RS5 boasts 450 BHP

On March 4, 2010, in Auto Tech, by KLS

Estimated to arrive us in Europe with a hefty price tag of 77k Euros, the new 2010 Audi RS5 just unveiled this week at the Geneva Motor Show is in my view one of the coolest looking sports coupe currently available. 450 horsepower is what you get when you combine Audi’s Quattro all wheel drive technology with their new 4.2L V8 engine, this beast of a car will definitely be as good a head turner as its more powerful brother, the Audi R8.

CNET takes the new 2010 Audi A3 TDI, the smallest yet one of the most eco-friendly Audi vehicles for a quick spin.

Unlike the Volkswagen Up Lite concept which is equally very eco-friendly, Audi’s new diesel A3 is in fact a production car and realistic! Audi first announced the addition of the new 1.6 TDI model to the A3 lineup over in Europe during September and now it’s available to order in the UK. The newest A3 features the VW group’s latest 1.6 liter common rail injected four cylinder diesel powerplant. In the A3, this engine combines with several other tweaks – including brake energy regeneration and automatic start-stop. As a result, this new technology gives the new A3 TDI a CO2 rating of just 99 g/km and mileage of 61.9 mpg combined.

Another flying car? To be honest, most concept gadgets and cars too are relatively unrealistic, including this one. The Audi Calamaro concept really takes things to the next level. For one, it’s a flying car. No wheels here. Yeah, you could say it’s as futuristic as the vehicles you drive in the video game Wipeout.

Designed by Hungarian design student Tibor for a design contest run by his native Porsche distributor. And inspired by the “bone of a cuttlefish,” the Audi Calamaro does a good job of looking kind of like its name suggests while still adapting current Audi design themes. One thing is for sure it looks great but not that practical at all. It doesn’t even have a trunk (though lots of sports cars these days don’t neither. All round, I think its awesome for a concept design, who wouldn’t want to test drive it, if it became a reality?
