The first Android phone with flash support has been unveiled. A true iPhone killer this time? Known as the HTC Hero, it is a phone which has been speculated with images leaked previously, now officially revealed and pictured below.

The new open source Android based HTC Hero sports a 3.2-inch HVGA (480×320) screen, a five megapixel camera with autofocus, AGPS, digital compass, gravity sensor, 3.5mm headphone jack and a dedicated search button. On the inside lies 512MB of storage, expandable by microSD, 288MB of RAM, and a 528MHz Qualcomm processor.

Not very long after the Magic arrives, it looks like HTC and Google have been busy. Here’s a snapshot that’s been leaked featuring the HTC “Hero”.

The picture doesn’t look as if its been photoshopped and the HTC Hero looks to be an Android phone with a wider screen, same old “chin” but without a trackball which is abit unlike other Android phones currently available.
