Motorola’s latest Android flagship smartphone – Droid, aka Milestone here in the UK (no differences in spec) is now available for pre-order online via Superetrader. The potential iPhone-killer caught everyone’s attention when it was first announced last month. Being the first mobile to come with the new Android 2.0 update and also the first phone to demonstrate Google’s new Maps Navigation application.
For those not familiar with the Droid / Milestone, it is perfect for those who love to text, surf the web and engage with social networking sites. Boasting 3G, WiFi, GPS, a Flash 10 ready web browser and the same fast processor that powers the iPhone 3GS, the Droid has a well designed, full sliding QWERTY keypad which has been mentioned as one of the slimmest ever seen.

Check out the hands on video below of Sony Ericsson’s first Android phone, the XPERIA X10. It is powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, the X10 boasts a 4″ WVGA capacitive touchscreen display, an 8.1 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, GPS with GSM/GPRS/EDGE in addition to either UMTS/HSPA. The X10 unlike Motorola’s latest Android phone, the Droid, doesn’t come with Android 2.0 but instead 1.6, though this can be upgraded.
A slim sliding QWERTY, a five megapixel camera, 3.7-inch display, a slim body just slightly thicker than that of the iPhone, oh and it runs Android 2.0 – could this be the perfect iPhone killer waiting to be unleashed?
Hardware wise, the Motorola Droid will be the most competent Android phone yet to fight it out against the likes of iPhone 3GS and the Palm Pre. Underneath the business smartphone style design is the same snappy core processor, the TI OMAP3430 which powers the iPhone 3GS.
