Not sure what you guys think, but I personally am not a fan of the new hinge Dell has given the new Adamo XPS. It’s mounted a quarter of the way up the lid, so when it opens, the metal-tipped keys are angled to (in theory) provide a more ergonomic typing position. Engadget has taken some first hands on photos of the new Adamo, a few of them can be found in the gallery below.
Dell held an event yesterday in which the very mysterious new Adamo XPS was revealed. They’ve teased us before, now they’re doing it once again, just eyes-on no hands on, why won’t they release at least a few more details on their new ultrathin lappie?
For those who have not heard about the new XPS version of the Adamo. Its been officially boasted to be just 9.99mm thick which makes the Adamo XPS even thinner than the original Adamo (16.39mm) and to put this into perspective, its half as thin as the MacBook Air (19.4mm at its thickest).
Well Dell didn’t just tease us to clarify, they’re teasing everyone and all those who wanted to own an Adamo. The Adamo which we’ve covered extensively here on GadgetLite is probably one of the most classy and elegant laptops we’ve ever seen.
Despite Dell’s mysterious picture of the Adamo XPS, they have revealed one important spec – the Adamo XPS will be 9.99mm thick which makes it even thinner than the original Adamo (16.39mm) and much thinner than the MacBook Air (19.4mm at its thickest), that’s certainly a selling point. Unfortunately, we’ll probably have to sit through a batch of intermittently leaked pics, ads, etc, before seeing the real thing get revealed.
