The iPhone Dev Team have released their latest updated version of PwnageTool, 3.1.3. This new jailbreak tool extends its reach to the third generation iPhone 3GS as well as second generation iPod Touch. If you’ve got a non-jailbroken iPhone 3GS running 3.1, now’s your chance to redeem it into a proper iPhone once more. At first we were quite convinced that the iPhone Dev Team would soon work something out for those who have mistakenly upgraded their iPhone 3G / 3GS and wait. But now it seems many are now understandably eager and want to be able to use their locked up iPhones again. That’s the bad news, the good news now is that there is a method to safely downgrade your iPhone 3G’s updated baseband from 05.11.07 back to an ultrasn0w unlockable baseband – 04.26.08.

As we have reported just a few days ago, if you’re an iPhone 3G / 3GS user who’s unlocked your iPhone using ultrasn0w, you’re advised not to update to the latest iPhone OS 3.1.1 (3.1) which was released earlier this week.
