We saw rise of smart device, and after smartphones, smart TVs and smartwatches, it seems that we might see a smart gun.

Armatix is a gun maker, and this company has developed a new king of gun that works with your smartwatch. This .22-caliber handgun comes with a smartwatch, and the smartwatch is used as a safety mechanism, so if the smartwatch isn’t in range the gun automatically locks and can’t fire. Gun comes with RFID chip that measures proximity and when smartwatch is in range the green light on the grip will light up signalizing that gun is unlocked and ready to fire. This is great since your gun will remain permanently locked in case you misplace it or lose it thus lowering chance for an accident.

Armatix iP1 sounds interesting and it should lower the number of gun related accidents. As for the price, Armatix iP1 is priced at $1,399, while the smartwatch is sold separately and it’s priced at $399.
