Latest device from Lockitron turns your iPhone into a door key

We know that iPhone can do all sorts of things, but today we have a device that lets you unlock your door with it, and if you don’t want to reach out for your pocket every time you want to unlock a door, this device might be perfect for you.



This device comes from Lockitron, and it goes over your current deadbolt, and connects via WiFi to your home network. In order to unlock your door you can send a SMS message or use a dedicated iOS app. As for the iOS app, it can provide provide you with notification if someone is knocking on your door, so you can open it with a swipe of a finger. In addition, Bluetooth support is also present, so your iPhone can unlock your door for you as soon as you get near it. So far, this device works only with iOS devices, but Android app with NFC features is in the works.

This device is handy, but we still have some safety concerns, and as for the availability, this device will be available for sale on March 2013, but you can preorder it now for $150.
