We’re all waiting for Nintendo’s latest gaming console, Nintendo Wii U, and if you’re interested in purchase of this console, today we have some information related to Wii U’s hardware specs.

Officials from Nintendo have released information regarding Nintendo Wii U’s hardware specs and according to this information, it seems that Wii U will be powered by IBM Power-based multi-core processor, and it should use AMD Radeon-based High Definition GPU. We should mention that Wii U won’t have Gamecube compatibility, although some Gamecube tittles will be ported to Wii U and available on the “New Play Control” range. As for multimedia, Wii U won’t read DVD or Blu-ray discs, so if you want to enjoy in your favorite movies on Wii U, you will have to use online services such as Netflix, Hulu, YouTube and Amazon Video.
As you can see, Wii U will have a lot to offer to its users, and hopefully lack of Gamecube compatibility and DVD support won’t be a big flaw for potential buyers.
