DrumGenius: Portable drums for your wrists

On March 22, 2012, in Entertainment Gadgets, by Mike Jefferson

Portable instruments are gaining popularity, and you probably remember Wrist-mounted finger piano that we covered recently. However, if piano is not your favorite instrument, you might be interested in latest portable drums.

DrumGenius is designed by Guanyun Wang, Ye Tao, Zurui Jiang, Lei Shi, and Yujie Hong, and allows you to play drums wherever you are. In order to play the drums, you just need to wear DrumGenius on your wrist and you’re good to go. Each drum wrist comes with built-in accelerometer that tracks your hand movement and produces a sound whenever you move your hand. Although DrumGenius won’t be able to replace actual set of drums, it will save you a lot of space, but you should keep in mind that you might look a bit silly while using DrumGenius.

If you’re fan of drums and you want to play drums whenever you go, DrumGenius might be perfect for you. Sadly, no information regarding the price or release date is available at the moment.
