You probably remember the JBL On Tour Micro portable speaker for smartphones that we covered recently. In case you don’t fancy small and compact speakers, and you need more sound power, today we have a special speaker dock from JBL that we want to show you.

JBL has released its OnBeat Extreme (model JBLONBEATXTAM) speaker dock, and what makes this speaker dock so special is that it’s fully compatible with iOS devices with Bluetooth. In addition, OnBeat Extreme also features a rotating connector, so you can position your iPad, iPhone or iPod in both portrait and landscape orientation. This speaker dock can charge iOS devices, but thanks to the Bluetooth connectivity, you can pair up this speaker dock with any other Bluetooth mobile device, and thanks to the built-in microphone, you can use OnBeat Extreme to make or receive calls.

Regarding the speakers, this device has JBL Ridge tweeters, Atlas woofers that offer computer-optimized DSP equalization and deliver 30W of power. In addition, you can pair up OnBeat Extreme with your TV, and included remote allows you to control your dock from up to 30 feet distance.

JBL’s OnBeat Extreme has a lot to offer, however, it comes with a hefty price of $499.
