We know Archos tablets are already ‘affordable’, but believe it or not, the company is now going to an even cheaper segment with the new Arnova 8 tablet.

After a few details emerged about the tablet on the internet we now have some impressions of the real specs. The Archos Arnova 8 boasts an eight-inch 800 x 600 resistive touchscreen display, a 600MHz processor and a 4GB of internal storage.

Weighing at 498g, the tablet will support Google Android 2.3 or higher. However, at release it will run on Android 2.1 OS. The Archos Arnova 8 also has a microSD card slot, a G-sensor, a USB 2.0 port, two built-in speakers, 720p video playback support and WiFi.

Archos devices remain a very affordable solution for those who do not want to dive straight in for a stronger tablet and just want a taster of the Android experience. If you’d like to pre-order, the pricetag on the Archos Arnova 8 will be 150 euros.
